Spacing

Below are some examples of how your registration should be spaced to be legal.

Basically there should be a 33mm gap between the two groups of characters in the registration.
Below are some examples of legal spacing.
When you enter your registration enter 1 space with the keyboard to achieve this, if you don't add spacing we will not add it for you.

Below are some examples of non legally spaced registrations.

More than 1 space between the two groups.
Additional spacing added making more than two groups.
Again additional spacing added.

These are only examples - not a complete list spacing options.

Legal Plates

For a plate to be legal it has to be spaced correctly and use the correct legal items on the plate.
On our website everything that is legal has the word legal next to it - there are 4 legal fonts Legal Standard, Legal 3D, Legal Carbon and Legal Hiline. The only legal graphics are listed in the Legal sidebadge dropdown box, in addition you are allowed a border. Backgrounds, other sidebadges and honeycomb are not legal for road use.

If you want our name and postcode on the plate enter No1showplates in the slogan box. We will put the BSAU 145d number and/or our name and postcode on the plates only if the plates are legal, for example spaced correctly.

We don't put our name and postcode on unless you ask for it to be on the plates.
The term legal on the fonts does not mean the plates will be made to a legal standard, it simply describes the font as being the legal font.

Fonts

Legal fonts are marked with the word legal. Other fonts are not legal for road use - if you use a non legal font you do so at your own risk. There is some talk that the 3D font is not legal - it is legal - download a document to show this.

Slogan

The slogan appears at the bottom of the plate in small letters, you can free type here or enter no1showplates for us to put our name and postcode on (see legal plates above).

Border

This is a coloured line around the outside of the plate - it is legal.

Legal Sidebadges

These are the sidebadges deemed to be legal for road use.

Sidebadges

These are graphics that appear down the left hand side of the plate, the images in this section are not technically legal for road use but you shouldn't get a problem if you use one these.

Backgrounds

These are images that appear behind the registration - they are not legal for road use, we do however fade the image out.

Plate Sizes & Quantity

Sizes are shown in inches - you must be sure of the size you require. We can not offer advice on plate sizes in relation to specific vehicles.

Honeycomb

This is an effect on the back of the plate - it's not legal for road use.
